Last weekend still saw no sign of spring with stubborn early morning mist on the coast. I headed out on The Anglesey Coastal path at around 7.30 a.m, the fog was thick in places. Everywhere was silent – you could have literally heard a pin drop, there was a very special, peaceful atmosphere.
Rather than taking stills, I thought the best option was to try and capture this mood and feeling with a short video using the Black Magic Pocket Camera, but this time round, rather than using the Kowa MFT lenses, I decided to only use the Kowa telephoto lens with the 500mm f5.6 module. With the crop factor of the Black Magic Sensor, this gave me a focal length of around 1500mm. The telephoto lens is full manual focus and aperture so its perfect for video, combined with the high quality recording of the Black Magic, you can get some very sharp, detailed results – even in the fog!

Here’s hoping spring well and truly arrives this weekend!
